With school holidays and Christmas on their way, now is a great time to take advantage of cheap pool entry and bring the family to Hanmer Springs.
Purchase a Mini Group Thermal Pool Pass for just $30 which gives a single entry to the Thermal Pools for two adults and up to three children (15 years and under). And you can get it even cheaper by joining PoolsPlus members can purchase a Mini Group pass for just $25! Note that Mini Group passes are for single entry only and do not include extras such as waterslide passes or private facilities.

Passes are valid throughout the school holidays, right until 28 February 2015.

Swannanoa Country Fair

Join the fun and excitement of the 16th annual Swannanoa Country Fair being held on Sunday 1st March 2014 from 10am - 3pm at Swannanoa Domain, Tram Road. The Fair which started in 1998 has grown into an iconic event in North Canterbury attracting over 8,000 people.With over 130 craft & trade stalls, monster white elephant, lots of kids rides and games, petting zoo, pony rides, miniature train and a variety of food and drink it's a great day of fun and entertainment for the whole family!
Only 10 minutes up Tram Road at Swannanoa Domain with plenty of free parking.
Entry is by a $5 donation per adult, children (15 and under) free, includes lucky programme.
Come and have a fun day in the country, relax and be entertained.
The Fair is a major fundraiser for Swannanoa School.

Lions Fun Run/Walk


South Belt, Rangiora

The Lions FunRun/walk event is on Sunday 8 March 2015. Each year the run direction is reversed so that this year it will be run from Rangiora to Kaiapoi.
The race starts at 9.30am at the Southbrook Sports Park on South Belt, Rangiora and finishes at the Borough School in Kaiapoi at approx. 12noon.
This is designed to be a fun event for all fitness levels. There will be the serious runners, but the majority are individuals, groups, families and childrenwho want the challenge of running or walking from one town to the other. The fittest will complete the course in approximately 40 minutes while the rest may take up to 1.5 hours.
There will be Cups for the winners and various prizes and spot prizes for those competing.
Tickets for the event will be $12 for adults and $5 for children. These will be available from The Northern Outlook Rangiora, New World Rangiora and Kaiapoi, Blacwells Kaiapoi, Kaiapoi i-site Coffee culture Rangiora or purchased on the day from the event entry table.
As details of sponsorship are known further I would advise you so they can be included in the promotion but at this stage they include New World, Northern Outlook and Mill Orchard
All proceeds from this event goes to charity especially the disadvantaged youth of our area.

Waipara Valley Wine & Food Festival

Held under the oak trees at Glenmark Domain, the Waipara Valley Wine & Food Festival showcases the regional wineries and celebrates the upcoming grape harvest. The festival has been running for more than 20 years and opens with a Harvest Festival Blessing.
